Maintenance Mechanic

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Red Bluff Fish and Wildlife Office, Red Bluff, California.

What you will do

• Install, modify, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.
• Perform maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of exterior and interior surfaces and structures built of brick, block, and stone.
• Construct, install, repair, and modify wood and wood substitute structures.
• Operate electric resistance welding machines and gas torch welding processes to weld various metals.
• Perform maintenance and repair on HVAC systems and controls, including heating and cooling systems.
• Install, modify, and repair utility, supply, and disposal systems such as sewage, water, oil, and gas distribution systems.
• Operate heavy equipment for excavation, backfilling, grading, and leveling earth.
• Conduct maintenance on motor vehicles, including replacing components and servicing air conditioning systems.

What you need

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pesticide Applicators License.
• Must be able to obtain or maintain a D1 or D2 California Water Distribution Operator License.
