1 What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your browser or device to remember information about your visit, such as login status or security tokens.
GreenHired also uses similar technologies (like tokens stored in secure cookies) to keep your sessions safe and working correctly.
2 Who we are
This Cookie Policy applies to GreenHired, a global green and sustainability job board operated by Vaan Corporation. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
3 How GreenHired uses cookies
Right now, GreenHired uses only strictly necessary cookies that are required for the website and app to function, especially for login, session management, and security.
We do not use advertising cookies.
We do not use analytics or tracking cookies from third parties at this time.
We do not set third-party cookies for marketing or cross-site tracking.
If we add analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will update this notice and, where required by law (such as in the EU/UK), display a cookie banner or consent tool before those cookies are set.
4 Cookies we use
The main cookies currently used by GreenHired are:
- gh_* – A session cookie that keeps you logged in as you move between pages and actions. Without this cookie, you cannot sign in or use authenticated features.
- gh_* – A security cookie used to protect against cross‑site request forgery (CSRF) attacks when you submit forms or perform actions.
- gh_* – A short‑lived cookie used to secure sign‑in flows when you log in with supported identity providers (for example, Google).
These cookies are typically:
- Marked as Secure (only sent over HTTPS).
- Set with SameSite attributes to reduce cross‑site request risks.
- Given limited lifetimes (for example, around 7 days for user sessions, or OAuth state cookies).
- Because these cookies are strictly necessary for GreenHired to work, they do not require consent under many laws, but we still explain them here for transparency.
5 Other technologies
In addition to the cookies above, GreenHired uses other technologies that may process similar technical information:
- Cloudflare Turnstile and security features to help distinguish legitimate visitors from bots and protect the platform from abuse.
- Server-side logs and security tools that use IP address, user-agent, and other header data to manage sessions, detect suspicious activity, and keep accounts safe.
- These operate on the server side and do not place extra marketing or analytics cookies in your browser.
6 Managing cookies
Because GreenHired currently uses only strictly necessary cookies, disabling them in your browser will prevent you from logging in or using core features.
You can still:
View some public parts of the site (where available) with cookies restricted, though some functionality may break.
Configure your browser to block or delete cookies generally. However, if you block or delete GreenHired’s essential cookies, you may not be able to sign in, save preferences, or complete actions such as applying for jobs.
If we introduce non‑essential cookies (for example, analytics or marketing) in the future, you will have options to accept or reject them via a consent banner or settings area, where required by law.
7 Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example when we add new cookies, introduce analytics, or change our technology stack.
When changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to inform you, such as updating this page with a new “last updated” date or showing a notice or banner in the app.
