Senior Quantity Surveyor

Alternative Heat Limited specialises in the design, development, fabrication and delivery of innovative, sustainable and fully integrated offsite prefabricated solutions. Their engineered systems are manufactured in Ireland and deployed throughout the UK and Europe, supporting major commercial, industrial and mission-critical sectors.

What you will do

• Manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures.
• Seek the correct mixture of building materials and services to meet requirements of quality, environment and safety, and most importantly, cost.
• Provide advice on the procurement strategy.
• Analyse completed work and report the costs.
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.
• Prepare and present reports, budgets, accounts, bills of quantities and other documentation.
• Track and manage project costs and budgets.
• Ensure projects are completed within budget.
• Negotiate with contractors and sub-contractors.
• Advise on building contracts.
• Manage and supervise junior QS staff.

What you need

• Experience in a QS role.
• Experience in the construction industry.
• Experience in managing costs and budgets.
• Experience in negotiating with contractors and sub-contractors.
• Experience in advising on building contracts.
• Experience in managing and supervising junior staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software.
