Magnet Design Engineer - Fusion Energy

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Magnet Design Engineer to lead the design, manufacture and testing of High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) magnets for an exciting fusion energy programme for a UK Government project.

What you will do

• Lead the HTS model coil design, manufacture and testing.
• Contribute to the overall magnet design and system integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.

What you need

• Experience in magnet design, particularly with HTS technology.
• Proven ability to lead design, manufacture, and testing processes.
• Strong understanding of fusion energy principles is advantageous.

About the role

• Contract role with potential for extensions beyond June 2027.
• Hybrid working model: 2 days per week on site in Culham, Abingdon.
