Healthcare Engineer - Electrical Engineer

The position serves as a Healthcare Engineer - Electrical Engineer specializing in electrical engineering and providing construction administration for Minor Construction Projects, Non-Recurring Maintenance Projects, Station Level Projects, and Leases at the Northport NY VA Medical Center and associated Community Based Outpatient Clinics.

What you will do

• Provide engineering support, serve as a Contracting Officer Representative, and lead multi-disciplinary teams in executing complex design and construction projects.
• Work in electrical design across low, medium, and high voltage systems within healthcare facilities.
• Make recommendations relating to energy conservation for feasibility and cost effectiveness to support facility energy goals.
• Implement sound stewardship practices protective of air, water, land, and natural resources in accordance with the VA GEMS program.
• Maintain construction specifications, drawings, and technical reference libraries for OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI codes.
• Oversee architecture, engineering, and construction contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and healthcare regulations.

What you need

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Selective Service Registration for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Ability to complete background and security investigations.

About the role

This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Telework is not available. The salary range is $130,369 to $169,484 per year with competitive benefits including paid time off, federal pension, and health insurance.
