About the Role

Vaan Corporation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sustainability & ESG Professional to join our expanding team.

In this role, you will play a key part in guiding how organizations understand, implement, measure, and communicate their sustainability efforts. You will collaborate closely with our team to develop practical strategies for workplace sustainability, corporate initiatives, ESG practices, sustainability commitments, and public communication.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who possesses a deep understanding of sustainability beyond theoretical concepts. You should have proven experience working with organizations to translate sustainability goals into actionable, measurable outcomes.

This is a remote position, open to candidates based anywhere in India.

What You'll Do

• Research and analyze current practices in sustainability, ESG, climate action, and responsible business.
• Contribute to the development of practical sustainability frameworks, guidelines, and initiatives for organizations.
• Engage with companies and stakeholders to understand their sustainability objectives, commitments, and challenges.
• Develop methodologies for organizations to establish meaningful and measurable sustainability commitments.
• Research and evaluate corporate sustainability initiatives and publicly available sustainability information.
• Help establish criteria for assessing the credibility, quality, and progress of sustainability commitments.
• Identify opportunities for organizations to reduce their environmental footprint and improve resource efficiency.
• Support the development and implementation of sustainability programs within workplaces.
• Research emerging sustainability regulations, standards, frameworks, and industry best practices.
• Contribute to the creation of sustainability-related content, reports, guidelines, educational resources, and communications.
• Collaborate with product and technology teams to integrate sustainability expertise into digital experiences and features.
• Ensure that sustainability information provided to users is accurate, practical, understandable, and ethically presented.
• Identify potential greenwashing risks and develop strategies for transparently communicating sustainability claims.
• Monitor emerging trends in corporate sustainability, climate action, ESG, circular economy, responsible business, and employee engagement in sustainability.
• Partner with internal teams to continuously enhance our sustainability initiatives and products.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Business, ESG, Economics, Public Policy, Law, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in sustainability, ESG, corporate sustainability, CSR, environmental management, sustainability consulting, or a comparable area.
• Demonstrated practical understanding of how organizations develop and implement sustainability initiatives.
• Solid comprehension of corporate sustainability and ESG principles.
• Experience researching and evaluating sustainability practices, commitments, reports, or initiatives.
• Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities.
• Ability to interpret sustainability data and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capacity to work independently and effectively in a remote setting.
• Ability to collaborate constructively with product, business, technology, and other teams.
